John "Lawdog"'s Story
Life
Hello to everybody! As of 11/10/08 I am cancelling my Classmates contract, so I won't be able to answer any messages. But feel free to contact me at JOHNBARB95atAOLdotCOM for free. We also have the Hartselle Class of 1983 Website with full pics and info, so I will give you the link when you contact me.
I am a Trial litigation attorney and married to the former Barbara Arnold of Cullman. I head my own law firm located in Moulton, Alabama, and have been working solo since 1995. My law office is located at 14414 Court Street, Moulton, Alabama 35650. Phone is 256-974-7087. My legal practice takes me all over North Alabama and as far south as Birmingham. Give me a holler if you need legal advice, I would be glad to help a fellow Hartselle Tiger!
To sum up my life, after high school I went to Auburn (War Eagle!) and graduated in 1987 with a pre-law/journalism degree. While at Auburn I enjoyed working for the Plainsman student newspaper and playing intramural football, basketball and softball as well as U.S.T.A. 3.5 tennis. I also got really big into photography back when film photography still existed!
I still enjoy taking hundreds of photos each year although I have gone completely digital. After graduation from Auburn I actually worked for a year at the Hartselle Enquirer as Sports Editor and general reporter/photographer from 1987 to 1988. It was a blast and I really enjoyed it prior to going to law school.

hool in 1988 and I graduated from Cumberland Law School at Samford University in Birmingham in 1991. As I wanted to get back to "God's Country" in North Alabama I took an associate attorney's position at an established litigation law firm in Moulton, Alabama. After a few years of "getting my feet wet" I went out solo in 1995. Also got married that same year and I have been working for myself ever since.
I've really gotten interested in genealogy over the last 10 years or so and have my own genealogy website. I have traced about 6,000 ancestors so far, some of them back over roughly 1,000 years (back to England) and uploaded hundreds of photos over the past few years. The website is called "The Burnum Family History" and it is located at Tribalpages. Apparently, Classmates won't let you post websites on their board! :<( Feel free to check it out if you can.
That's about all I can think of for right now! Sincerely, John Eric Burnum
P.S. --- My law practice keeps me working probably 50 to 100 hours a week depending on what trials and hearings I have going on. What little free time I have I spend playing golf (and not too well either!), attending or following Auburn Sports ---AU grad '87, reading science fiction, traveling, keeping up with my computer and/or Internet, playing basketball, jogging and also playing video games. We don't have children so we spend considerable time spoiling our assorted nieces and nephews, which is always fun!
